The Business Change Manager is responsible for supporting the Lead Business Readiness Managers in identifying business readiness risks and issues at portfolio and programme level and then working with stakeholders to manage the mitigating actions.

The Business Change Manager will maintain a strong relationship with business teams across the bank, sharing the view of project demand and discussing any potential risk this poses as a result.

Depending on the team, most of our roles offer flexible working.

So what would you be doing?...

  • You will have had experience of building solid relationships with stakeholders across the business, based on a strong understanding of the organizational structure and culture.
  • You will have a good understanding of how significant change impacts multiple sets of stakeholders whilst being mindful of organisational BAU deliveries.
  • You will be able to manage substantial quantities of business readiness data and interpret what it means in terms of the risks that are created and the impacts on our stakeholders.
  • Assist the Lead Business Readiness manager(s) in developing and maintaining an in-depth understanding of the change roadmap, the planned implementations and the impacts on the business teams.
  • Understand the aggregated impact that the programmes, projects and initiatives create for each business team and, working with the representatives from each team and the Lead Business Readiness Manager, help to determine the level risk that this creates.
  • Alongside the Lead Business Readiness Manager, update the business readiness CRAID log and ensure that all relevant stakeholders are engaged, ownership is understood and actions are followed through.
  • Support the Lead Business Readiness Manager(s) and Head of Business Change & Readiness in developing the tools and templates to manage readiness at initiative level.
  • Support Change and IT colleagues, as well as initiative owners in the business teams, in enhancing their business readiness skills, eg through QA of key deliverables, delivering training etc.

You need to be this kind of person…

  • Passionate about providing unparalleled levels of service and convenience for customers
  • Able to work and learn quickly in a fast paced, fun and dynamic environment
  • Prepared to stick at something – we get nervous if someone has jumped from job to job as we want people who are prepared to learn and grow
  • Care about doing a great job and exceeding expectations with the quality of what you do

And... we are a bank so risk is a part of everything we do. We love people who take responsibility, do the right thing for customers, colleagues and Metro Bank and have the courage to call out any concerns.

We always support colleagues to develop their skills. But to be successful in this job you really do need to already be able to do most of these wonderful things...

  • Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders

Important Footnote Diverse teams really are the best teams. We know that candidates (especially women, research tells us) may be put off applying for a job unless they can tick every box. We also know that ‘normal’ office hours aren’t always doable, and while we can’t accommodate every flexible working request we are happy to be asked. So if you are excited about working with us and think you can do much of what we are looking for but aren’t sure if you are 100% there yet… why not give it a whirl? Please note that sometimes we may close a job earlier for applications if we are inundated with amazing candidates.. Good luck!
