Job Description

Public Affairs Manager

3 year fixed term contract

London

Role:

  • Working closely with the Programme Director, Communications Director and Chief Executive, proactively engage with stakeholders across industry, government, education and training sector and other parties to establish strong working relationships
  • Develop and successfully deliver stakeholder engagement plans in accordance with the Organisation's overarching stakeholder engagement strategy
  • Manage stakeholder mapping and prepare communications to stakeholders and respond to stakeholder enquiries.
  • Provide updates on parliamentary and public affairs activity to colleagues, highlighting opportunities to influence

The Successful Applicant

Public Affairs Manager

Essential:

  • Understanding of and interest in UK national, regional and local politics
  • Experience of working and building relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including with senior figures is essential
  • Excellent influencing and communication skills including writing skills of a high calibre.
  • Ability to manage complex projects with multiple outputs, deadlines and stakeholders
  • Ability to develop and learn as policy areas develop
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork and influencing abilities
  • Experience of working with government, education and training providers, accreditation bodies, professional bodies etc on skills development is desirable.
