Position Overview & Specifications

Minstead Trust has a great opportunity as a Support Worker.

Location: Minstead / Totton

Salary: £20,475 equal to £10.50 per hour. (Rising to £10.90 per hour subject to skills assessment after 6 months)

Job Type: Full Time (37.5hrs per week) AND Part time (20hrs per week) available!

Travel to the surrounding areas for visits (in-work travel paid).

The Trust is over thirty years old and has grown from humble beginnings to become an organisation of over 200 dedicated people.

Our Support Workers make a difference to individual lives and their wellbeing by delivering high standards of bespoke care and support including assisting individuals to access a variety of activities from going to the cinema , accessing education, engaging in day service opportunities or work based enterprises, or with their care, medication and personal needs.

Job Description;

  • To support individuals to meet their goals and outcomes in health, wellbeing and independence.
  • To support people with their individual personal, social and healthcare needs as required maintaining accurate records.
  • To work as part of a team but also to lone work in the community as needed.
  • To be a keyworker to allocated individuals.
  • Interacting and communicating with the people you support in a way that promotes dignity and respect.
  • Supporting individuals with everyday tasks from cooking to personal care as required.
  • Working flexible shifts over a 24/7 week, 365 days a year. The role includes working evenings, weekends, Bank Holidays and sleep in shifts on a rota pattern and allows some flexibility.

About you:

We are seeking individuals who are brilliant with people, motivated, honest, approachable, good communicators, responsible and committed to providing equal opportunities and quality support. Due to our location a driving licence is preferred but is not essential. A Level 2 NVQ in Health & Social care or relevant experience is also desirable.

All staff working for, or on behalf of Minstead Trust, understand their responsibilities in relation to safeguarding adults at risk and know who to escalate concerns to the Minstead Trust.
