Role Profile

Conduct Risk continues to be a priority focus area for both UK and European Regulators. The EMEA Compliance Department own the policy and Framework which defines how Morgan Stanley identifies and manages Conduct Risk within EMEA. Responsibility for identifying, assessing, escalating, remediating, and reporting on Conduct Risk is shared among all areas at the Firm.
This role involves supporting core components of the Conduct Risk Framework across all businesses and infrastructure Divisions across all EMEA locations and driving ongoing enhancement to the Conduct Risk management programme.

The role encompasses managing a variety of Compliance led Conduct Risk initiatives, including:

> Supporting business units and the Conduct Risk Officers in their day-to-day management of conduct risk;
> Contributing to the design and coordinating the delivery of training programmes to ensure EMEA based staff understand conduct risk and the application of the FCA and PRA Conduct Rules;
> Monitoring of conduct risk incidents;
> Support Conduct Risk Governance fora to ensure there is effective oversight of conduct risk within EMEA;
> Production of conduct risk indicators to identify themes and trends and preparing management information for Senior Management;
> Reporting of conduct rule breaches internally and to the PRA / FCA;
> Coordinating and executing the annual conduct risk assessment;
> Executing initiatives and projects to enhance components of the Framework in line with annual planning or other EMEA or Global initiatives; and
> Supporting the governance and oversight of broader Compliance initiatives including metric optimisation and oversight of core MI processes.

Primary Responsibilities

The role involves supporting the identification, escalation, remediation, reporting and understanding of Conduct Risk and how it can manifest itself within Morgan Stanley. The role is broad, and the successful candidate will need to have the ability to analyse and challenge, be capable of multi-tasking, able to exercise good judgement, be capable of making decisions and have honed diplomatic credentials. This role will report to the EMEA Head of Conduct Risk Framework and requires an individual capable of operating collaboratively within the Legal & Compliance Division and with other Infrastructure and Business Departments.
