At the Museum of London we connect people with the lived experience of London. The story we tell is one of place and people, evolving through interaction and exchange. We summarise what we do in three words: We Are London.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and efficient textile conservator to help prepare our dress and textiles collections for our New Museum project and current exhibitions and collecting projects while our textile conservator is on maternity leave.
The Museum of London is on the move. We want to tell the extraordinary story of London and Londoners in a new museum in West Smithfield, itself a deeply fascinating and historic area. This role will be part of the specialist team preparing the collections for the new galleries and displays, helping process new acquisitions, and conserving and preparing objects for the move and installation. It will also help conserve and mount objects for our current exhibition programme.
