Our Role

As an Overhead Lines Operative, you will work as part of a team, directly involved in the switching, earthing and recipient of safety documents on overhead lines LV to 132kv working alongside our in-house tree cutting teams.

Training will be given to expand your competencies.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for someone to:

· Construct/maintain/replace overhead electrical networks up to and including 33kV

· Install overhead electricity networks to relevant construction standards and exacting quality standards

· Ensure to lead by example and safely undertake works as directed

· Conduct and abide by risk assessment process prior to project commencement and continually review and report changes to your Chargehand

· Always work safely and in line with Company and statutory safety requirements

· Ensure that all work is carried out efficiently and in accordance with Company procedures and client/Company distribution safety rules

· Highlight any concerns, unsafe conditions or acts to your line manager

· Mentor other team members including LE2 Linesman and provide guidance on construction/safety issues

Qualifications and Experience

· Hold current DNO authorisations for SSEN (Work on Dead Networks, Live LV Working, Permit holder)

· IPAF accreditation

· NRSWA Operative

· IOSH Working safely qualification

· Driving licence with C1+E category

· City & Guilds 2339 (formally 2322)

· NPTC Chainsaw qualification

· Previous experience working On Shutdowns, Connecting Generators, Polarity Testing, Etc

· 33Kv, 11Kv Heavy / Light Construction / BLX, LV Open Wire, ABC & Services
