Position Overview & Specifications

A Media & Hospitality Group has a requirement for a qualified Management Accountant to assist during a busy period. Having recently undergone a huge growth phase and now entering a period of restructuring and consolidation to ensure that finance can provide optimised support to the business on an ongoing basis this position is needed to he support during this new phase.

This is an interesting and growing business that has many operating businesses that have different needs from the finance team.

This Management Accountant will report into the Finance Director providing both month/year end support along with some business partnering to some of the operating businesses.

This role is initially a fixed term contract but has the potential for permanent for the right candidate. To be suitable it is essential that you are a technically strong qualified accountant with UK experience ideally gained within a creative business. You will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a proven background of working within fast paced environments.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Prepare full management accounts to include balance sheet reconciliations, P&L, accruals & prepayments, variance analysis
  • Business partner departmental stakeholders through analytical support to include: weekly sales reporting, cost of sales, gross profit analysis, variance against forecast, commission analysis etc
  • Full month end close and reporting duties across the group
  • Prepare consolidations for group and statutory reporting
  • Prepare monthly & quarterly management reports for senior management
  • Assist with the year end statutory reporting and accounting, including disclosures
  • Liaise with the external accountants and advisors for completion of the annual audit & tax returns
  • Regular review and sign off of the AP & AR ledgers, monitoring any fluctuations, particularly bad debtor provisions
  • Reconcile the intercompany accounts, including interest calculations
  • Preparation and submission of the VAT & CIS returns

  • Refine internal controls and processes to ensure the business is fully compliant
  • Implementation of a transfer pricing policy across the group

Candidate requirements:

  • Fully qualified ACA/ACCA or equivalent
  • Experience gained within a media or similar environment would be beneficial
  • Exception communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships
  • Strong technical background including consolidations, group/stat/regulatory reporting, transfer pricing is required
  • Experience gained within a growing, dynamic environment, an understanding of start up env would be beneficial
  • Natural self-starter with a can-do attitude, able to work under own initiative
  • Advanced Excel
  • Great attention to detail, deadline orientated and able to remain calm under pressure
  • Methodical, logical approach
  • Energetic, positive attitude and able to flex on approach

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Salary: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
