Position Overview & Specifications

We are looking for an ambitious Accounts Assistant to provide support to the financial controller and the finance department by managing daily accounting tasks. You will be part of a small team working to maintain order and transparency for the company’s finances.

The ideal candidate will be able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail.

The goal is to contribute to the overall efficient operation of the department and help the company fully aware of its financial condition. This way it can make the right decisions and accomplish long-term success.

Key Accountabilities:

· Managing accounts payable and ensuring supplier payments are made on time

· Update accounts payable and perform supplier reconciliations

· Receiving and processing all purchases and sales invoices, expense forms and requests for payments

· Recording and paying multi-currency bank transactions

· Supporting the Group financial Controller through month end reporting, producing monthly management accounts and other financial analyses

· Managing the accounts email inbox

· Update accounts payable and perform supplier reconciliations

· Bank reconciliations and revaluation of multi -currency bank accounts

· Handling and writing cheques

· Assist in Quarterly VAT returns

· Accounts administration and bookkeeping - uploading invoices and other materials supporting journal entries into our Sage accounts system

· Managing the petty cash account, recording payments and receipts accurately and ensure the count agrees to balance per the system

· Posting intercompany transactions and reconciling intercompany balances each month.

· Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded

· Monthly Balance sheet reconciliations including banks , vat , supplier, petty cash etc

· Any ad-hoc duties such as placing orders for stationery and Amazon orders

· Collating audit backups and assist with audit queries

· Perform the month end and year end on accounting system

· Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts

Personal Attributes:

· Ability to work on own initiative.

· Ability to organise and plan own work.

· Strong interpersonal skills

· Must be detail oriented

· Ability to critically think through multiple-step process and follow up on several details.

· Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant

· Well Organised

· Great attention to detail

· Good with numbers and figures with analytical acumen

· Good working knowledge of Excel

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

· Have 1+ years’ experience in a similar role

· Be extremely well organised and able to work under pressure

· Have excellent communication skills

· Have a keen eye for detail and be passionate about ensuring that work is completed to a high quality

· Be good with numbers and figures with analytical acumen

· Have a strong working knowledge of Excel

· Knowledge of Sage 50 or 200 will be advantage

· Be self-motivated and pro-active team player with a desire to constantly learn and contribute ideas to improve efficiency of current financial systems

· Be Part-Qualified or looking to pursue a recognised Accountancy qualification (ACCA/ CIMA/ AAT or equivalent) is a bonus
