Position Overview & Specifications

We're an award-winning Social Media agency based in the UK. We work with brands including Virgin, Mattel (Scrabble, Barbie, UNO and more), Linda McCartney Foods, Lindt Chocolate, Sixt Car Rental, bp, Avanti West Coast Trains, Toyota and the Royal British Legion, amongst others.

We're looking for a Strategist with a focus on social media strategy to join our lively team in Great Portland Street, London (and at home), working across a number of exciting clients.

Our team is a friendly mix of Strategists, Creatives, Account Managers, Media Planners and Buyers - all with one goal: creating work that wins people's time on social media, in the most exciting ways possible.

Role overview


This role will be most rewarding to you if you are naturally curious about the developments of the digital world, how people behave on social media, and the opportunities brands have to add value.

You’ll have a strong point of view on what smart social marketing looks like, and as an avid social user, you’ll also have an intimate understanding of the cultures that develop within each channel.

You’ll be action-oriented, adept at identifying key insights and writing succinct, insightful creative briefs. You’ll be able to explain complex ideas simply and compellingly, to senior stakeholders both client and agency side.

You’ll report into our Creative Director, and work with wider agency colleagues to develop thumb-stopping social content.


As a Strategist at Cubaka, you will:

  • Translate big brand thinking into social strategies that create culturally relevant, share-worthy ideas
  • Be involved in all aspects of planning and evaluation
  • Dig for insights within social conversation, engagement and performance data
  • Create reports, highlight insights and present findings back to clients, as well as applying these insights in creative briefs
  • Manipulate and visualise data from different sources
  • Write inspiring, single-minded creative briefs
  • Create clear, concise, convincing presentations


As a Strategist at Cubaka, you will bring:

  • 2+ years of agency experience with a focus on strategy development
  • The ability to keep your finger on the pulse when it comes to trends and tech and be comfortable challenging assumptions
  • Experience with mining data for insights that creates unexpected and unforgettable creative opportunities
  • A working knowledge of Social Listening tools, campaign evaluation, and social insights and analytics platforms (e.g., Sprinklr, Brandwatch, Google Analytics, Sprout, etc)
  • Working knowledge of the metrics used across social
