Position Overview & Specifications

Applications are invited from a suitably qualified and experienced Anatomical Pathology Technician to join the Mortuary team within the Cellular Pathology Department.

You must have the Royal Institute of Public Health level 3 Certificate in Anatomical Pathology Technology or equivalent.

You will be involved in the provision of the technical work in the mortuary including post mortems, receipt and release of deceased, viewings, liaising with funeral directors, bereaved relatives, police, Procurator Fiscal, nursing staff, patient relations, chaplains, porters, medical staff, laboratory staff and Consultant Pathologists.

You will be based at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy but there is a requirement to travel to Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline. A new Mortuary facility was completed within the Victoria Hospital Site in April 2015 and the Department has ISO 15189 accreditation.
