Position Overview & Specifications
We would welcome an enthusiastic and committed Therapeutic Radiographer to join our friendly and innovative team. Applications are invited from qualified Therapeutic Radiographers and student radiographers due to qualify imminently. The post is rotational through the pre-treatment and treatment sections of the department. You must be registered with the HCPC .
Graduate radiographers will be supported to develop skills and competencies which will allow them to operate as autonomous practitioners with limited supervision of their clinical work. In accordance with Agenda for Change Annex 20, skills to perform autonomously at Band 6 level must be developed within 12 to 24 months after starting employment at Band 5 level.
Radiotherapy services are provided for the population of Tayside and North East Fife, delivering around 1400 new courses each year for a broad spectrum of cancers as well as providing specialist treatments including brachytherapy and SABR. The Radiotherapy Department currently houses three Varian linear accelerators, one Canon Aquillion Wide Bore CT scanner, mould room facilities, HDR brachytherapy facilities and Raystation treatment planning system. We are a paper light department currently expanding our use of SABR and IGRT as well as having an exciting programme of equipment replacement and planning system upgrades over the next year.
Dundee is the fourth largest city in Scotland with a population of approx 148,270. Currently undergoing a large scale riverside re-development, this vibrant university city has a well established art scene, boasting the internationally renowned Dundee Contemporary Arts Centre and the recently opened Victoria & Albert Design Museum. There are excellent transport links both north and south, as well as easy access to the rugged north east coastline of Fife and Angus, and the mountains of Highland Scotland.
