Permanent Contract | 37 hours per week | £20,812 to £24,054 per annum (Starting at Grade C, Progressing to Grade D, then to E Grade Finance Assistant upon completion of Apprenticeship Level 3) | Norwich
The Budgeting and Accounting (B&A) team provides financial guidance and support to operational teams within Norfolk County Council, working to ensure that the maximum benefit is delivered for the organisation from the resources available.
We are looking for someone with a flexible and pro-active approach who is well organised, has great communication skills and an eye for detail. The post will support Community and Environmental Services (which includes Highways & Waste, Culture & Heritage, Growth & Development and Community, Information & Learning). The role will primarily cover the Team outlook mailbox, which involves processing journal and invoice requests as well as dealing with ad hoc queries and providing general support to the CES Budgeting and Accounting team.
This post is an apprenticeship position where you’ll complete the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification offered by Adult Learning, which includes one day per week of study.
This is an excellent opportunity to join Budgeting and Accounting and enter an accounting environment. We are an enthusiastic and diverse team in a large organisation. Line management and mentoring will be consistently maintained with an identified manager, who will be responsible for general management, coaching and development reviews/plan. The level of responsibility and complexity of work will increase as the individual’s knowledge and skills increase.
If you have excellent customer service skills, recent administrative/office experience and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, we would love to hear from you.
