Position Overview & Specifications

Band 5 Assistant Psychologist 1.0wte (37.5hrs per week)

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Psychologist to join the Long COVID pathway to help qualified staff with assessment and delivery of interventions.

This is exciting opportunity to join a forward thinking, creative, enthusiastic and supportive psychology team within this innovative and supportive Trust.

This post provides an opportunity to aspiring clinicians to gain valuable experience which will count towards their professional pathway development, providing the opportunity to work alongside and support qualified psychologists within a clinical health psychology department. The department provides the psychological input into Adult Diabetes, Bariatric surgery, Cardiac, Cancer, Chronic Pain, Palliative Care, Musculoskeletal, Paediatric Diabetes and Stroke.

The currently advertised post will be helping qualified staff deliver support within the Trust in the Long Covid-19 Pathway and provide an exciting opportunity to be involved with a new service focusing specifically in this area.

The post will involve direct clinical work in the Long COVID pathway in addition to supporting the head of department and other senior staff in their work with audits, annual report preparations, compiling data and presenting audit/research results.

The post is funded for 37.5 hours per week currently for twelve months, although funding may be agreed following this date.

Finally, you will be expected to have a keen interest in clinical health psychology and to demonstrate this eagerness to gain further experience in this area within your application for this post.
