Venue for Interview Malton Library
As part of the Outreach team in Ryedale your role will be to lead a team of staff and volunteers to develop new library audiences, whilst maintaining existing service use through the promotion of library services and facilities. The post holder will ensure a quality and consistency of service delivery at all libraries by monitoring the performance of staff and volunteers, managing stock, and developing a programme of outreach activities.
We are looking for someone who has experience of delivering a customer-focussed service, managing projects, and has a range of managerial and professional competencies. You will have the ability to work closely with communities, stakeholders and volunteers, an entrepreneurial approach to service delivery, and a passion for books, reading and working with people.
Although usual working days/hours will be Monday (7.5 hours), Tuesday (7.5 hours) Thursday (3.5 hours) and Friday (7 hours); the ideal candidate will have a flexible approach to working including weekends, evenings and different locations as required along with the ability to travel across North Yorkshire. Literacy and numeracy to level 3 is required, alongside confident skills in relevant IT applications and social media platforms as you will also be a member of the county-wide Digital Strategy Group. A recognised library qualification is desirable.
