Yorkshire Council is proud of its record of keeping libraries open and
delivering services in partnership with communities, partners and volunteers.
As
part of the Outreach team in Central Area based in Northallerton your role will
be to lead a team of staff and volunteers to develop new library audiences whilst
maintaining existing service use through the promotion of services and
facilities.
The post holder will ensure a quality and consistency of service
delivery at all libraries by monitoring the performance of staff and
volunteers, managing stock and developing a programme of outreach activities
including creative use of digital technology.
We
are looking for someone who has experience of delivering a customer focussed
service and projects and who can demonstrate a range of managerial and
professional competencies.
You will have the ability to work with communities,
stakeholders and volunteers, an entrepreneurial approach to service delivery
and a passion for books, reading and working with people.
The role also requires a flexible approach to working including weekends,
evening and location to meet service requirements and the ability to travel across North
Yorkshire. Literacy and numeracy to level 3 alongside the use of relevant IT
applications is essential.
