About the Role
This is a full time, fixed term contract until 30th September 2024
The Department of Biosciences at NTU has a new full-time Research Assistant position available, working on a project entitled “Clinically relevant study of antimicrobial resistant evolution of uropathogenic Escherichia coli using a model of the human bladder”. The successful candidate will work with Dr Alasdair Hubbard (Lecturer in Microbiology) to undertake the research project.
The aim of this project is to use organoid models to undertake experimental evolution of Enterobacteriaceae in the presence of clinically relevant antibiotics.
We are looking for a candidate with significant experience in experimental evolution, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, mutant selection windows and fitness assays. In addition, the candidate must have an excellent understanding of AMR and it's importance.
