An exciting opportunity is available for a Wellbeing Adviser at Nottingham Trent University, working as a part of the Student Support Services Team. The team responds to students seeking support with their wellbeing within the context of their studies, and to the concerns of third parties.

This role will require the provision of effective advice and guidance, undertaking assessments and offering interventions for students to support their academic progression.

About The Role

You will be required to assess personal and academic risk for those contacting Wellbeing Services. You will provide initial information, advice and guidance via telephone, e-mail and in person to students, staff and other stakeholders. You will also make sound assessments, signpost and refer appropriately to a range of internal and external services for suitable intervention and resolution of concerns.

You will therefore need substantial experience in a client-facing role, involving assessing the needs of service users, signposting and referring to other agencies. You will also have extensive experience of working with clients with a range of mental health and wellbeing issues, including assessing risks and support needs. You will also need to be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance to promote a positive student experience in a university setting and an understanding of the support needs and lived experiences of students from diverse backgrounds.

The role will be based across the City and Clifton campuses, reporting to a Wellbeing Service team leader, and is open to job share applications.

We encourage applications from candidates of BAME backgrounds, reflecting the diversity of the student population accessing our Wellbeing Services.

Applicants should submit a personal statement no more than 2 pages, outlining how you meet the requirements of the role.

Closing Date: 11th April
Interview Date: W/C 24th April
