The Fracture Clinic is part of the speciality of Trauma and Orthopaedics, our Fracture Clinic is forward facing providing outpatient care to Trauma and Orthopaedic patients. Care is provided to a very diverse range of patients including trauma, major trauma, elective orthopaedics and plastic surgery patients. Our approach is multi-disciplinary and no day is ever the same. We work closely with A&E, Theatres, inpatient wards and primary care. The clinic works closely with the trauma nurse practitioners.

We offer an induction programme where staff are expected and encouraged to complete local casting training and develop wound management skills.

As the Registered Nurse you will be required to maintain an awareness of the developments in the care and treatment of patients in order to be able to carry out duties competently and efficiently.
The role of a registered staff is to deliver care to patients following surgery and those patients who have injuries requiring wound care, application of casts and mobility aids.
The role will require you to support other services as required, including wards A and E and paediatric patients.
The Fracture clinic cares for Orthopaedic patients ranging from follow up appointments and traumatic injury.
As part of your application you will be required to explain how your skills meet the criteria for this role.
The successful Registered Nurse will be responsible for ensuring that the care needs of patients are met through the delivery of high quality patient care. The successful candidate must document the condition and progress of patients and report to senior nursing staff and/or medical staff any areas of concern.
As the Registered Nurse you may supervise unregistered (and at times registered) staff, as appropriate. Effective communication channels are important and must be aware of the need for confidentiality both in the written and spoken word.
