Health Care Assistant - Days & Nights

Nursing Direct have a new homecare package in the Merton area for a young girl who has been diagnosed with the following:

• · Quadraplegic Cerebral Palsy
• · Severe encephalopathy from birth
• · Hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy
• · Hip displacement
• · Dystonia
• · Seizure disorder, Absence Seizures, previously had Tonic-Clonic Seizures
• · Obstructive Sleep Apnoea
• · Scoliosis
• Non verbal but can communicate basic needs with facial expressions and emotions

Her care requirements include:

• Needs carers to attend to her personal care, her movement and positioning
• Needs medication administered via a mickey button, as well as regular feeds
• Occasionally needs suctioning, more so in winter
• Needs monitoring overnight
• Requires overnight oxygen due to not tolerating NIPPY – 1L/min via nasal cannula
• Needs assistance with following her physiotherapy plan and stretches on a daily basis
• Needs staff to interact and engage with her, play games, read her stories etc.

Requirements for HCA’s:

-MINIMUM of 1 months UK Healthcare experience
-MUST be hardworking and adaptable by responding quickly to changes
-MUST be passionate about high quality individual and teamwork
-Medication administration trained
-PEG experience
-Seizure management experience
-Suctioning experience
-Oxygen management experience
