Oakes Farm Shop & Café is a family-owned farm shop comprising of a shop, butchery, delicatessen, and a café.
We are situated in West Midlands (based in between Solihull and Coventry) and are passionate about providing the best locally sourced food around.
We are looking for a candidate to join our shop team and work alongside our retail manager and shop team, bringing a passion of food and customer service with them!
We offer sociable working hours (between 8am-5pm), and you would be working within a small team where your opinions and ideas will be valued. The successful candidate should have sound knowledge about our business and our products, outstanding communication skills and able to confidently approach customers to help with any enquiries whilst they shop with us.
The successful candidate must be a confident individual who will provide outstanding customer service to all our customers. They must have a good initiative and work well in small teams.
Working hours: from 20 hours, over 3 days, flexibility to cover additional shifts/hours would be preferable.
Exact pay is dependent on age and experience.
Duties to include:
- Assisting the shop team to ensure a smooth day-to-day running of the department
- Providing outstanding customer service to all customer and ensuring all members of the shop team are performing at company standards
- Working with the shop team to introduce new ideas, stockists, promotions and displays
- Confidently answer any queries from customers about shop produce
- Assisting with the opening and/or closing of the shop
- Efficiently putting away deliveries
- Ensuring the shop shelves are always kept full and presentable
- Reaching and exceeding personal KPI targets
- Assisting with reaching and exceeding monthly and yearly department targets
- Ensuring a thorough cross over between shifts
Person Specification
Essential
- Previous retail experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Flexibility with working days. (Working days may differ each week. If a set schedule is needed, this is open for discussion)
- Experience dealing with customer enquiries and complaints
- A passion for local & quality food, food retail and customer service
- Ability to multitask and work well in a team
- Good initiative and a forward-thinking approach to work
