Ocean Infinity is seeking a Logistic Assistant for their base in Southampton, UK. This is an operational role, initially shadowing the Logistics Lead to understand the processes in place and be able to seamlessly step in as the workload dictates.

Reports to: Warehouse Logistic Lead


What will you do:

  • Maintain the freight tracker with up-to-date information;
  • Record and file documentation, understanding the implications for future equipment movements;
  • Arrange courier deliveries and collections (etc DHL);
  • Liaise with freight forwarders to track shipments once live;
  • Communicate with vessels, suppliers, agents, and shipping destinations to ensure requirements are met;
  • Adept in packing all shipments from OI Southampton safely and securely;
  • Understand Dangerous Goods requirements and rules;
  • Understand export control licencing and recording /reporting;
  • Understand all shipments that are due or live;
  • Liaise with shipping agents to facilitate the smooth transition of shipments;
  • Work with the workshops team to move equipment between local locations as required for onward shipping, this will include forklift truck operation and use of the company van and drop side truck;
  • Be a successful contributing team member by exhibiting dependability, operating with structure and clarity, find meaning with the purpose of the role in relation to the organization, and believe their work is purposeful and positively impacts the greater good;
  • Contribute ideas to the team in situations in which everyone is safe to take risks, voice their opinions, and ask judgement-free questions;
  • Respond to emails and service inquiries in an efficient and timely manner.

  • Ability to organise and prioritise tasks;
  • Good practical experience with office tools: MS Office, Google Drive, Teams, e-mail, among others;
