Position Overview & Specifications

Job Purpose:

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for the implementation of the corporate sales strategy and for achieving the company’s overall sales target with a key focus on growing and developing new and existing business through ODEON’s Corporate Accounts in Conferencing and Corporate Screenings both directly with clients and through event agencies. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for creating new revenue streams within ODEON that have an impact on Corporate Sales event income.



Key Accountabilities:

  • Implement and action the key sales strategies for Conferencing and Corporate Screenings to ensure revenue growth and excellent customer service in order to build client retention
  • Seek out and implement new commercial initiatives, finding creative ways of monetising under-utilised assets.
  • Develop a wide base of strong strategic 3rd party relationships across a wide range of sectors.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to customise bespoke propositions that best fit the client's needs to ODEON's priorities.
  • Collaborate with Finance Business Partner to optimise profitability, following due diligence to ensure the right projects come to fruition and drive profit.
  • Obtain weekly client / agency sales appointments both out of the office and within the cinemas to increase revenues (weekly targets will be set) through proactive sales calls
  • Have the ability and proven track record of presenting to blue chip clients on a one to one basis and to larger audiences (100+ people)
  • Carry out accurate sales reporting, including activity reports, confirmed, forecast and pipeline sales.
  • Communicate results, meetings outcome, pipeline effectively and provide business update reports to the Senior Commercial Manager
  • Undertake any reasonable duties or special projects as requested by the Senior Commercial Manager

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in a proactive multi channel sales role
  • Track record of outstanding client and stakeholder management.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation and communication skills are essential.
  • Proven experience of managing large-scale, cross-departmental projects within compressed timeframes simultaneously.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and effective time management.
  • Able to work independently and drive growth, but also a strong team player.
  • Innovative and adaptable, with strong analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, takes initiative and solves problems effectively.
  • Able to quickly become an 'expert' across a wide and variable base of products, services and spaces.
