Position Overview & Specifications

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR OXFORD EDUCATION ONLINE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR
Hybrid position, office based 2-3 days per week in the village of Gayton, Northampton/ town of Congleton, Cheshire.

We seek to appoint an administrator one who will be a general school administrator with some technical focus to support the online delivery of lessons.

For the role, previous experience of working in a school is highly desirable and aspects of the role would suit someone interested in developing and supporting our users and online applications, as well as contributing to the day to day operations of the school.

Daily tasks:

  • Manage WhatsApp, communicating with teachers, parents and (where necessary) students to ensure lessons run smoothly and punctually
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with Zoom and school accounts (Microsoft Office, Moodle)
  • Monitor and answer incoming emails from teachers and parents, passing on important information to relevant team members (accounts, subject leads, etc.)
  • Overseeing teacher cover arrangements, informing students of any lesson changes and providing links to lessons

Weekly tasks:

  • Maintain student attendance log and student concerns log for presentation in 1200 SMT meeting every Monday
  • Oversee progress tests

Termly tasks:

  • Manage the release of student reports to teachers (for filling in) and then to parents
  • Ensure teachers and students have the correct books and materials, updating the booklist and purchasing necessary materials for teachers
  • Registering students for their GCSEs and A-levels at exam centres.

General responsibilities:

  • Conduct student technical inductions
  • Conduct staff technical/HR inductions
  • Provide technical support drop-ins with students and staff as required
  • Maintain new student/staff induction and set-up log
  • Maintain master list of staff and parent contacts
  • Maintain the teacher mailing list
  • Update and maintain student registers, records of work, student folders, 121 tutorial records
  • Manage Zoom users and licenses
  • Manage and maintain the school platform (Moodle)

Additional responsibilities

  • Support the BISU (British International Schools Ukraine) programme by working with Jude Richardson, OEO Director of Teaching and Learning
  • Supporting students if their teachers have difficulties logging on

Hours Monday - Friday 25.5 - 37.5 hours per week between 0745 and 1545
Salary is £22,000 - £24,000 FTE
