Position Overview & Specifications

Job Title: Senior Carer with Specialised Skills

Job Description: We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Senior Carers with specialised skills. As a Senior Carer, you will provide high-quality care and support to individuals with complex healthcare needs, including those requiring tracheostomy, mechanical ventilation, Gastro feeding, airway management, oral/nasal suctioning, bowel management, moving and handling, dystonia care, epilepsy management, autistic and challenging behaviour management, and personal care.

Responsibilities:

Provide personalised care and support to individuals with complex healthcare needs.

Utilize your specialised skills, such as trachy skill, ventilation skill, peg feeding, airway management, oral/nasal suctioning, bowel management, dystonia care, epilepsy management, and autism management, to meet the specific needs of each individual.

Assist individuals with personal care activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.

Administer medication and ensure proper documentation in accordance with established protocols.

Monitor and record vital signs, observations, and changes in individuals' health conditions.

Manage and maintain medical equipment, ensuring proper functioning and cleanliness.

Implement and follow care plans, including dietary requirements and mobility exercises.

Respond promptly to emergencies, following established procedures and protocols.

Promote independence and ensure the dignity and privacy of individuals at all times.

Foster a positive and supportive environment for individuals and their families.

Collaborate with healthcare professionals and other team members to ensure coordinated care.

Additional Requirements:

Passion for caring: We are looking for individuals who have a genuine passion for providing care and support to vulnerable individuals.

Full training: While prior experience in some or all of the specialized skills is desirable, we are willing to provide full training for candidates who demonstrate the right attitude and commitment.

English proficiency: For candidates whose first language is not English and have not been educated in English, a minimum IELTS score will be required to demonstrate proficiency in the English language.

Qualifications and Skills:

Relevant healthcare qualification or certification (e.g., NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care).

Previous experience in a care or healthcare setting is desirable.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.

Empathy, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Knowledge of health and safety regulations and infection control practices.

Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
