About the role

As the Compliance and Health and Safety Manager within Optimised, you will be a part of the Facilities Management Services team, responsible for ensuring statutory compliance for effective operation of safety and wellbeing frameworks, supplier management, Group ISO accreditations and subcontractor management.

What you’ll actually do

  • Act as key point of contact for arranging the vetting of Suppliers and Sub Contractors for Approved Supplier Status, issuing PQQ’s including health, safety and wellbeing assessments and NDA’s to potential Suppliers/Sub Contractors
  • Carry out supplier compliance audits on a quarterly basis
  • Carry out routine building safety checks at each office to include fire alarms, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, emergency door release and general housekeeping checks
  • Ensure our health and safety policies and procedures focus on wellbeing and actively take part in the Wellbeing committee
  • Assist in ongoing development and implementation of effective H&S policies and procedures
  • Support and administration of all H&S accreditations and memberships
  • Maintain the Group ISO accreditations, with particular focus on ISO9001
  • Provide support with ISO 14001 and 27001 as appropriate
  • Develop and maintain a Procedures Framework for encompassing all OBUs and Corporate functions, ensuring that all procedures are complete and accurate
  • Assist in maintaining Client compliance portals
  • Assist in the completion of PQQ documents for new tenders
  • Collaborate with people at all levels across the business to establish a strong and positive Health & Safety culture and to drive the continual improvement of performance
  • Ensure that statutory and role specific health, safety and wellbeing training has been carried out for all employees and that all training records are up to date
  • Mentor new and less experienced team members.
  • Keep skills up to date with skills and developments in the role/expertise.
  • Provide a contribution to continuous collaboration and innovation.
  • Support managers in the provision of Health, Safety and Wellbeing in the workplace.

What you’ll need

  • NEBOSH National General Certificate as a minimum
  • ISO compliance & supply chain appreciation
  • Experience with audits and inspections
  • Experience in leading implementation projects and bringing colleagues together to embed new ways of working
  • Knowledge of REACH/COSHH regulations
  • Experience within Manufacturing, Engineering or Construction industries is desirable
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
