Position Overview & Specifications

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and caring individual to join our nationally recognised and expanding Oxfordshire Child & Adolescent Eating Disorder Service. Our well-established service aims to deliver high standards of care to young people and their families, with an emphasis on continuous improvement and participation.

The team provides a community-based service to young people and their families/carers who are experiencing eating disorders, this also includes supporting young people and families who are in hospital and supporting them whilst on leave during hospital admissions.

You will be based in Oxford and be supported to develop expertise in working with young people with eating disorders. The post sits within a passionate and experienced multidisciplinary team and within the wider CAMHS. In addition to direct clinical work (assessment and intervention), this role provides service development and opportunities such as training, consultation, supervision, and audit/service evaluation.

The job purpose is for the post holder to contribute to the treatment of patients recovering for eating disorders at key stages of their recovery and both the young persons and families engagement with the Eating disorder team.

The overall role is to provide advice and support to carers and offer specialist Carers Assessments, focusing on positive outcomes. The role also includes running our parent group intervention, regular parent webinars, supporting clinicians with initial assessments of eating disorders, supporting care coordinators with supporting parents and carers and feeding back to the wider multi-disciplinary team.

This is an exciting time to join our team. We have recently launched a new Enhanced Care Pathway to include intensive community treatment for eating disorders and PEACE pathway to better support children and young people with autism and eating disorders.

We are a friendly and welcoming team looking for keen and enthusiastic practitioners who put young people and their loved ones at the centre of what they do. We promote a culture of support and supervision and have good links with the other teams across BaNES and Wiltshire and ensure that there is regular opportunity for networking.
