We are looking for individuals with passion, personality, and an ability to engage with customers, to help create lasting memorable experiences.
You will be skippering our 12 seat passenger boats on sightseeing and dining cruises. Your primary responsibility is to safely navigate the boat but you will also need to provide interesting and informative commentary about the local area.
This is a great role for a genuine people-person with a love of the outdoors who enjoys engaging with customers.
We will provide you with full training on driving our boats, and giving commentary, so although previous boating experience and RYA qualifications are highly desirable, they are not essential.

- Committed to providing outstanding customer service.
- Confidence to engage with passengers and talk to them about sights along the river, with an excellent command of spoken English.
- Self-motivated, keen to learn, and have the ability to absorb and share knowledge.
- Physically active, energetic and enjoy working outdoors.
- Flexible, willing to help out wherever needed in other areas of the business.
Previous experience or qualifications in one or more of these areas are highly desirable, but not essential:
- Skippering/navigation, good working knowledge of boat handling.
- Tour guiding or other role relying on good knowledge of local history.
- Hospitality/restaurant experience.
Oxford River Cruises work closely with The Folly Restaurant, where you will also get the opportunity to be trained in, and help with different aspects of one of Oxford's best loved restaurants.
Spending the summer on the river with us can be a great experience. We are looking forward to hearing from you.
