Role Overview & Responsibilities

We are seeking to employ enthusiastic and dynamic Care Support Workers to join our team in the Emergency Assessment Unit (EAU) at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

We are expecting that the successful applicants will be proactive in the provision of high standard of care to patients in line with the trust’s core values.

The EAU cares for patients who are acutely unwell, supports end of life care and cares for patients with a range of mental health conditions, working as an integral part of the multi-disciplinary teams including the Emergency Department and the Emergency Department Psychiatric Service (EDPS).

As a member of the team be able to prioritise and contribute to the delivery of high standards of care to patients, families and their carers in a safe and supportive environment under the direction of a registered practitioner.

As part of the wider team assist in developing and maintaining services provided to patients and contribute to the safe, efficient and smooth running of the ward/clinical area/department. To maintain the dignity and privacy of all patients and their families and carers and respect their right to confidentiality.

To complete and maintain on an ongoing basis a generic core and specific portfolio of clinical competencies and/or Care Certificate as required. To be motivated to review progress with Manager at regular intervals through the appraisal process. Understand own level of responsibility, scope of practice and accountability and at all times act within own capabilities.
