Position Overview & Specifications

A prestigious University in East London is looking for an Events Coordinator to join their busy team. This is initially a temporary 3 month contract that will become permanent.

The main responsibilities include coordinating events that have been confirmed, finalising details with the clients (both internal and external), preparing event plans, coordinating with internal service teams and ensuring that all event requirements are delivered.

The purpose of the role is to act as a link between the Sales team and the end client, acting as the events expert for all aspect of management such as room lay-outs, catering, audio visual, risk assessments, staffing requirements and additional services required for the smooth running of events.

About You

The successful candidate will have excellent operational knowledge of running a wide range of events from small daytime meeting to large conferences, exhibitions, and dinners. Ideally you will have experience of working across multiple venues and sites. You need to have exceptional levels of customer service as this role involves dealing with both internal and external clients, delivering the highest standard of event management at all times. You will be a driven and proactive individual who is details orientated, polite, helpful and professional even when working under pressure. Experience within the Higher Education sector would be advantageous but not essential.

Full time (35 hours per week, 5 days per week) Some evenings and weekend work will be required.

1/2 day work from home depending on the weekly schedule of events
