Position Overview & Specifications
What we aim to do is offer support and nurture for children and young people with emotional behaviour difficulties; and help navigate through day-to-day life using the therapeutic trauma informed PACE approach. Your role will see you as a role model to the young people, aiding in improving their overall health and well-being. We want to ensure that our staff team feel valued as that will allow them to ensure that our children receive the best care possible. This will be a home, with a warm atmosphere and requires likeminded, motivated, and compassionate support workers to continue to provide outstanding care to our children.
The role of Residential Support Worker involves:
- Providing outstanding care to children while applying their individual care plans
- Taking the children on activities
- Liaising with families and professionals to ensure the best possible care is being provided and carried out
- Taking a proactive approach in supporting the children with attending and engaging in their education
- To make and maintain accurate records of the child’s day, including any incidents that may occur
- Carry out general housekeeping duties, including cooking, cleaning, and completing health and safety checks
- Apply safeguarding knowledge to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone in the home
- Comply with GDPR and Health and Safety regulations
- Shifts are on a rota-basis and can involve sleep-ins
- Shifts will either start at 8am, 10am or 2pm depending on the needs of the children, and finish at either 10pm or 10:30am the following morning if on a sleep.
We are looking for staff with the following:
- Driving Licence – essential
- Experience within a childcare setting
- QCF/ NVQ L3 in Children and Young People is desirable, however if you don’t have this we will support you in working towards it
- Resilience, self-motivation and the enthusiasm to engage with active young people
- Excellent communication skills
- Teamwork skills
- Ability to navigate a challenging situation
- DBS on the Update service is desirable but not essential
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £11.00-£11.55 per hour

Education:
- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
Experience:
- Residential Childcare: 2 years (preferred)
- Support Worker: 2 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People (preferred)
