The Opportunity

Are you ready to make a change and help UK Parliament create and delivery engaging communication?

Well look no further we are seeking to recruit a Communications Officer who will develop and deliver high-quality communications across a range of channels with a special focus on creating and delivering engaging digital content through PDS social media channels. These include the PDS blog, our twitter channel and LinkedIn.

You will also work on other communications campaigns, plans and activities either independently or supporting other colleagues in the team. The PDS communications team works collaboratively with colleagues across PDS and communications colleagues within the House of Commons and House of Lords to ensure that our work is co-ordinated and aligned with wider messaging

What You Need

If you have experience of creating innovative, engaging and accessible social media content, including targeting a diverse range of audiences, then we want to hear from you. You’ll also need :-

  • excellent copywriting and proofreading skills.
  • experience developing and delivering effective communication plans
  • excellent relationship management skills along with effective negotiating and influencing at a senior level
  • ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines

About The Team

The Communications team is a small team of four working on communications for a wide audience including PDS colleagues, members of Parliament and their staff and staff of both Houses, plus external audiences through our social media channels. The team works with colleagues across PDS to proactively identify communications opportunities and lead effective campaigns and projects to deliver communications objectives.
