What is the role?

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and confident Trainee Architectural Technician to join our successful team. As a Trainee Architectural Technician you will be an integral part of the Technical department. You will be involved in all aspects of planning and technical detailing of both residential layouts and house type working drawings.

The role will include:

  • In post learning in respect of producing technical information on CAD and to communicate this information to the Construction departments to maintain the build programme and ensure compliance with Building Control
  • Learning all aspects of residential layout design, creating environments where people aspire to live
  • Assisting in the timely production of both presentation and construction information to ensure design concepts are communicated and implemented accurately
  • In time you will develop a comprehensive knowledge of the current Building Regulations, NHBC Standards in order to ensure compliance for the build process ensuring we meet our regulatory standards
  • You will establish good working relationships with Site staff and Department Heads to ensure schemes are constructed as intended and to encourage feedback for future schemes
  • Assisting in producing working drawing information that ensures schemes are designed to Persimmon standards to suit building, marketing and economic considerations and maintain a level of unit consistency and efficiency
  • Additional training/qualifications can be gained whilst in post, possibly through a day release arrangement to secure a Construction based qualification HNC or equivalent.

What we need from you?

  • The right attitude. You should be willing to learn and have an interest in house design and building
  • Be keen to attend additional courses gaining the necessary qualification where appropriate
  • AutoCAD technical skills would be of benefit but not essential
