With 175 customers in over 100 countries around the world this role is an integral part of pladis’ aim to “provide happiness to the world with every bite”. The role is core to the Customer Service and Logistics Team and works closely with various internal and external partners to manage the outbound logistics from the UK to the end customer.
This role is based at our Midlands Distribution Centre in Ashby-de-la-Zouch
What will this role achieve?

The role handles the entire order to cash process but is also responsible for the import into the country of destination by providing the accurate paperwork and customs information for clearance purposes. As export stock is made to order, we ensure that there are rigid processes in place to deliver all stock required whilst minimising waste.
In the continuously growing export world with new challenges always materialising, this role is critical in ensuring supply to our customers is outstanding by taking the initiative, being flexible and seeking to lead in everything we do. By establishing relationships with multiple internal partners this role helps save cost, drive efficiencies and deliver excellent customer service.
What will be your key deliverables?
  • Establishing links with our customers in order to receive orders during set weeks and then working with the demand planner to check these against forecasts
  • Raising requests for incremental volume for the customer if ordered and working with the supply planners to deliver this volume in line with the customer’s requirements
  • Building collaborative forecasting relationships with the export demand planner and customers to improve forecast accuracy and hence reduce waste
  • Checking production plans to ensure customer orders are dispatched on time and in full
  • Close communication with freight forwarders to prioritise bookings for the dispatch to our end customers so stock is received in market in time for sales and promotions
  • Following up with the warehouse to investigate any loading challenges or stock discrepancies to provide the best possible service and reduce credits raised to the final customers
  • Submitting export customs entries with our internal software to ensure goods are presented to HMRC before they physically leave the country
  • Produce accurate documentation through the support of external agencies to help clearance procedures in the country of receipt
  • Frequent contact with export commercial teams to keep aligned with year-end and monthly critical metric targets
  • Building and maintaining strong internal relationships with the wider logistics team.
