Online Trading Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Online Trading Assistant to join our Digital team.

In this new and exciting role, you will have the opportunity to join a growing, dynamic and innovative Digital team. You will play a key role in maximising the customer experience on our Primark.com website and drive the performance of our click and collect trial, which represents the first time Primark launched an ecommerce proposition.

We are looking for a Web Trading Assistant who will be responsible for the merchandising of our Primark.com website at a product and category level, ensuring that our strategy for both click and collect and non-transactional research journeys is executed and that we are hitting commercial targets. The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring key elements of our website experience align with our marketing calendar. You will be performing daily analytics across core categories ensuring that our product catalogue showcases the best product mix in the right place, at the right time to encourage our customers to make a visit to one of our stores or to make a purchase via click and collect.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of fashion and lifestyle retail, as well as the ability to understand data to develop category merchandising and a good depth of understanding in fashion ecommerce. They will form a key part of our new and growing digital team, working closely with the Buying, Marketing and wider Digital teams to ensure that Primark.com is achieving its strategic goals. We will be looking for a highly collaborative approach, focusing on strong relationship management and the achievement of shared goals.

You will be joining a high growth division within an established and successful business, operating in a fast-paced environment with the opportunity to work with key stakeholders within the Primark business.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Execution of strategies in key commercial areas of the site including search, PLPs and category pages
• Analysing data to build hypotheses around which products to feature to drive key goal conversions
• Contribution towards achieving Primark.com click and collect sales targets, as well as targets around engagement on the site (e.g., usage of the stock checker functionality)
• Use tools and systems to deliver of smooth and friction-free customer journeys to optimise sales and engagement
• Build expertise in our search and merchandising tools
• Actively contribute to the development of a brand-new team’s culture, ways of working and operating model
• Ensure that current fashion trends, customer behaviour and competitor landscape, are top of mind and reflected on the site so as to anticipate and meet customer needs

Skills & Experience:

• 1-3 years work experience in a web trading or digital merchandising team, with fashion experience a positive
• Experience using Search & Merch Tools, Platforms and Content Management Systems to deliver an engaging and commercial customer experience that aligns with overall Company strategy.
• Excellent attention to detail, and the ability to ensure products, brand image and messaging is consistent across multiple touchpoints
• Ability to thrive in fast paced environment; able to prioritise workload and find solutions to problems which may arise
• Self-motivated, problem solver and results oriented
• Excellent communication skills [written and oral] with strong presentation skills
• IT proficient, including advanced Excel skills & proficiency in Microsoft Office
• A great communicator along with excellent interpersonal and people skills. Someone who can contribute effectively as part of a team and can facilitate smooth interactions between themselves and senior stakeholders
• Strong interest in the fashion industry and a passion for the Primark brand
