Position Overview & Specifications

Stores Team Leader

Newbury

Stores Team Leader urgently required for a leading Manufacturing and engineering business based in Newbury. We are looking for someone with a solid stores, warehouse, goods in/ out, Materials Coordination knowledge and used to dealing with a range of areas from Assembly, Engineering, goods in etc. The primary responsibility is for the management and supervision of all aspects of Stores/ Warehouse management, Goods Inwards & materials management. This includes maintaining control and accuracy over all goods inventories, including all transactions, working with the Head of Supply Chain and procurement team ensuring that all materials are provided to Operations to enable customer order fulfilment.

You will be Responsible for a team of 5 and tasked with coordinating all aspects of material flow, picking and part delivery within the organization. Day to day you will create, maintain and execute material logistic strategies to manage inventory and support Head of Supply Chain & MRP managers to control excess and obsolete materials.

  • Develop with the Head of Supply Chain suitable material fulfilment models such as VMI, KAN BAN where suitable
  • Implement routine cycle counting on key materials ensuring greater stock accuracy.
  • Proactively work with the MRP / planning controllers to ensure inventory and replenishment levels are maintained and forecast to meet Customer on Time Delivery (COTD) and Market Expected Lead Times (MELT)
  • Oversee picking and packing of aftermarket sales orders in a timely manner and that all materials are available as required
  • Coach, lead, and develop team members to ensure key metrics, organizational goals and objectives are met.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Maintain and provide current understanding of industry best practices and technology trends.
  • Knowledge of Material Management System
  • Ability to work independently, exercise creativity, be attentive to detail, and maintain a positive attitude .
  • Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work
  • Excellent analytical problem solving ability and leverage metrics and other tools to drive supplier performance.
  • Ability to understand and drive best in class inventory performance

Experience

  • Strong background in Warehouse / Stores / Materials management within preferably a manufacturing environment.
  • Stores /Warehousing experience essential.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Ability to demonstrate solid written and oral communication skills.
