Position Overview & Specifications
Progress Music Academy are looking for a part-time Piano tutor to strengthen our team.
All lessons here at Progress are 1-2-1. Students, teaching resources, scheduling and equipment is all provided, tutors work to an agreed availabilty either in person here at the studios, at local schools, or online lessons via Zoom.
Requirement:
Candidates MUST have experience in teaching 1-2-1 lessons from aged 6 and upwards, along with an understanding of the common music exam framework systems in place. (Preferebly Trinity Rock & Pop) although training will be provided. It's essential that you are comfortable teaching varied styles of music, although this is generally within the Pop, Rock, contemporary and Classical area.
We aim to work with people who possess an outgoing, confident & positive character as we operate a fully inclusive, fun and positive environment for anyone who wishes to learn music. Candidates MUST be responsive, reliable & consistent.
Ideally, candidates would be based in the Birmingham area.
Availabilty:
This role requires an availabilty of two full days per week (typically 2pm-8:30pm on Monday & Thursdays) teaching from our studios. Please bear in mind that the schedule will take some time to build, although there are some students waiting now.
Dates:
This role will be available to start during April 2023.

Established back in 2009, we have over 13 years experience delivering fun, interactive and professional music sessions to both children and Adults. We have delivered over 40,000 hours of lessons to thousands of students from all over the world for drums, guitar, bass guitar, vocals, piano, music theory and recording studio.
Progress is Birmingham's exclusive Trinity Rock & Pop Exam Centre (Trinity College London) and supported by legendary Amplifier Manufacturer Marshall Amplification and Drum Company Natal Drums.
Owned and operated by Music Industry experts Gary Walmsley and Steve Smith and supported by a team of 14 vastly experienced tutors, Progress Music Academy is Birmingham's longest running independent music school.

Part-time hours: 8-12 per week
Salary: £14.00-£17.00 per hour
