Position Overview & Specifications
- Undertake and support projects to evaluate new and / or alternative materials with the aim of enhancing technical performance of existing resin formulations.
- To build a knowledge of the Prysmian cold pour resin technologies to support the current manufacturing processes.
- To carry out materials analysis and fingerprinting.
- To work as an integral part of the team to help it achieve its objectives in terms of new product development in the field of cold curing resin systems for cable joint encapsulation and other related products.
- Undertake projects for the development of resin formulations for new applications.
- Prepare and undertake test programmes associated with existing or new products including bench-marking of Prysmian and competitor products to identify cost reduction opportunities.
- Carry out routine testing of resin formulations to evaluate material properties such as material flow and reactivity behaviour.
- Involvement with in-house type approval testing of resin filled cable joints.
- An undergraduate in chemistry, polymer science or other related subject
- Good practical skills within a laboratory environment
- Strong analytical skills to assimilate and review technical data
- Strong computer skills including MS Office
- Well organised, self-motivated with a positive attitude
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Professional attitude to work
