Sales Assistant

This is an exciting opportunity where the successful candidate will be working from a brand new unit after the business moved in September from the area we have been for the past 23 years.

The successful person would be working for a family run business who have decorating centres across Southwest England and South Wales. Most Rabart stores have retail showrooms selling designer paints, wall papers and fabrics where customers can get advice around colour choice and product selection. Our Plymouth store has relocated to a new store and we anticipate that this will become one of our busiest retail outlets. We need an individual who has excellent customer service skills, who is enthusiastic, flexible and prepared to go over and above when providing a service to our customers. We are also developing a ‘Shutter & Blind’ service at the branch and the successful candidate would be required to help grow and develop this side of the business. Some Shutter & Blind experience would be preferred- however- this is not essential and we will offer training and support to get the successful candidate up to speed.

Working with and answering to the Branch Manager, key responsibilities would include:

• Assisting customers with their interior colour schemes and product selection.
• Assisting customers with their ‘shutter and blind’ selection.
• Generally driving sales and growth in the branch.
• Helping to maintain the overall appearance and stocking levels in the retail area.
• Ordering and mixing paint products as/when required.
• Assisting and serving our trade customers as and when required.

This is a part-time post of 25-30 hours over a 3 day week.- with a potential for overtime. Start/finish times to be agreed.

We offer 33 days leave per annum for full-time staff so part-time would receive circa 20 days (inclusive of Bank Holidays).

The salary will be paid at competitive rates depending on skill set and level of experience.
