Are you an experienced Procurement and Supply Chain professional looking for your next challenge?

We are looking for a Group Procurement Manager to head up our busy procurement and planning team during a time of rapid expansion.

The successful candidate will have a track record of driving performance within a procurement function, by maximising value within our supply chains and developing robust procurement strategies to support our growth. You will also have a good overall operational knowledge of production planning and managing inventory within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will be a leader who has a clear strategic vision for your department and the energy and determination to achieve this through harnessing the strengths of your team and supply base. You are very much a roll your sleeves up individual, who will also be hands on in managing a range of commodities and products.

Our procurement department is responsible for cultivating the relationships with our supply chain to ensure unrivalled quality and value, whilst ensuring the right product is available at the right time during a period of significant growth.

Due to ongoing expansion within the group, we are pleased to be recruiting for a Group Procurement Manager to lead our busy, fast paced team at Ellesmere Port.

Job Description

As Group Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for defining the strategy for the group procurement department, ensuring robust supply chains and partnerships are in place to maximise value and minimise costs.

As an enthusiastic and driven manager your ability to look at issues differently sets you apart along with your ability to clearly cascade your strategy within your department, ensuring clear objectives and targets are set and managed against KPI’s. You will champion your team and mentor and coach to ensure optimum results.

You will be a superior negotiator who will be responsible for managing key areas of direct and indirect spend. You will continuously analyse and interpret market intelligence to ensure optimum outcomes.

Within the New Product Development process, you will ensure your team is onboarding the best suppliers and processes within budget and time requirements.

Your knowledge of not only procurement but production planning and inventory management will enable you to orchestrate the activities of the planning and inventory functions to ensure the right level of stock is available to meet customer demands.

You will take full commercial accountability for delivering results against the strategy set for the department, including cost savings, category spend, inventory value, supplier performance etc.

Skills & Attributes that are required for this role:

- 5 years’ experience in procurement with at least 2-years’ experience in managing a team.

- Experience in an automotive or manufacturing business.

- Exceptional Negotiations Skills

- Experience of production planning and inventory management

- Degree educated with MCIPS (or equivalent) qualification.

- Clear verbal and written communication skills

- Self-motivated and able to multitask and prioritise which allows you to deliver on commitments made and do what you say you will do.
