Position Overview & Specifications

About Us Are you an enthusiastic and capable individual who is seeking to either commence or develop a career in Insurance? Would you like to join a customer-focused team that provides services to Richmond and Wandsworth Councils? If yes, this role might be perfect for you! You will need
  • To have knowledge and experience of insurance claims within a local government organisation (desirable).
  • To be willing to complete a Level 4 Insurance Professional Apprenticeship, that will help develop your understanding of insurance regulation, case law principles and how these are applied within a local government setting. You are required to have level 2 English and Mathematics to commence this apprenticeship.
  • To have teamwork, good organisational and time management skills, a confident telephone manner, as well as competent ICT, numerical and statistical skills.
About the role You will be responsible for opening claims and handling them throughout their claims life cycle via our claims management system (LACHS v.5). You will be a main point of contact for claimants, via telephone calls and email (telephone rota 9:00 am to 5:00 pm), and for helping resolve claims queries with our insurers and their claims handlers through securing service reports that will be used to support or repudiate claims made. The team are based within Wandsworth Town Hall and subject to work needs, following initial training (likely to be 3-4 months) some flexible working may be available.
