This is an exciting opportunity for a HGV Technician to join our team on a full-time permanent basis.

As a HGV Technician, you’ll be trusted with keeping some of the UK’s biggest brands on the road, responsible for conducting inspections, maintenance, repair, and servicing of customers’ fleets.

Role & Responsibilities

• Electrical, electronic, mechanical and hydraulic fault diagnosis, repair and installation
• Overhaul electrical equipment and components
• Welding and metal working (if authorised & qualified)
• Setting and operating of machine tools and equipment (if authorised)
• Department of Transport (MOT) testing duties (when suitably qualified)
• Take charge for parts ordering and stores management
• Support workshops team members including Apprentice Technicians as required
• Accurately record time to complete jobs and associated details
• required to substitute Carry out inspection and repair of workshop equipment as directed
• Use of skills and performance of other work within normal grade/job skills as required by the Workshop Supervisor to maximise workshop efficiency
• Maybe the Technician in Charge or cover reception if required
• Ad-hoc duties as required
• Health and safety at work and workshop cleanliness is of paramount importance

Skills & Experience

• Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Goods maintenance or equivalent, or considered qualified by experience
• Excellent customer service mindset
• Great communication skills
• Ability to work quickly and effectively
• Must be hardworking and self-motivated and a productive Technician
• Ability to tackle all aspects of repair and servicing
• Diagnostics skills/qualifications – desirable
• Fleet experience
