SEASONAL ANIMAL ASSISTANT

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic individual to work as part of our seasonal team in our Secret Animal Garden (SAG) at ROARR!
As an Animal Assistant, you will have responsibility for the routine care of the animal collection ensuring consistently high standards of animal welfare, husbandry, security, and safety. This role would involve working alongside the keepers within the SAG department both as part of a team and individually.
The role is physically demanding and requires attention to detail to maintain the high standards of animal welfare. We require someone who is reliable and hardworking and enjoys working in all weathers with animals, whilst interacting with guests.
Previous experience of working in an animal care and husbandry environment would be an advantage but full training will be given. This would be an ideal introduction for anyone looking to work within the animal industry as a first job or looking to gain further experience in this area of work.
This role is offered on a flexible “zero hours” basis, predominantly during weekends and school holidays but possibly other days as required to cover crew holidays.
Salary is NMW with hours between 8 - 30 per week, applicants must be 16yrs and over and have finished their GCSE’s.
Due to the nature of the role, a Criminal Records check will also be required.
