Paralegal

Our client is a well-known global retailer with stores in over 25 locations, this is a newly created Paralegal role. Reporting into the Corporate General Counsel - this role will be based in London, but will be supporting global team members and stakeholders based in Basel, Miami and other locations across the world. Hybrid or remote working is on offer, with the office located in West London.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing and negotiating leases, supplier, service, distribution, non-disclosure and concession agreements.
• Carry out admin tasks, such as sending documents, filing, and organising the execution of documents.
• Administrating the Group’s global database for legal documentation, including assuring proper uploads and conducting training.
• Working with and supporting the General Counsels, Senior Legal Counsels and Legal Counsels.
• Assisting with regulatory and compliance matters.
• Assisting with company secretarial matters, which include statutory filings, annual accounts, appointments/resignations, drafting resolutions and taking minutes.
• Processing invoices and managing the internal legal contract retention system.
• Corresponding with external counsel.
• Develop and deliver legal training for the business.
• Supporting the general day-to-day legal requirements of the business, such as carrying out admin tasks and dealing with ad-hoc queries from stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:

• Have obtained a Law Degree
• Minimum of six months’ paralegal experience, ideally in a retail company but this is not essential
• Strong commercial understanding, with excellent interpersonal and analytical skills
• A positive and a can-do attitude
• Ability to work autonomously, but also be a good team player
• Pragmatic and a good problem solver
• Ability to interact and communicate with a variety of stakeholders
• Highly organised with the ability to multi-task
• Proficient with Microsoft Office – in particular Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• The ability to speak French or Spanish would be beneficial, but is not essential
