Production Leader
Bristol (site-based role)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Leader to join our team in Bristol. You will be joining the Turbines facility, manufacturing high quality turbine casting components for use in civil and defence engine applications.
It’s an important leadership role that requires a wide range of skills to ensure delivery to our customers and drive lean improvement through great engagement with our talented people. You will work collaboratively across a wide range of functions and will be responsible for integrating their activities to deliver on time every time and to the right quality and cost. We will support your personal and professional growth through a wide range of development frameworks to enable you to continue your leadership development journey.
To be successful in this role you need to have good people skills to inspire your team to deliver, demonstrate a passion for manufacturing and have knowledge of best practice to drive the Business forward.

What you will be doing:
Leading a team of talented individuals, you will:
  • Recruit, Lead and Inspire the team to deliver excellence through brilliant 2-way communication, coaching and performance management. You will ensure that the team can achieve their full potential.
  • Deliver to the customer requirements through robust production load and capacity planning to meet budget and ensure availability of resources to meet customer schedules now and in the future.
  • Quality is at the heart of the way we operate, casting the leadership shadow that embodies the importance of compliance.
  • Ensuring our people go home safely every day by driving compliance to our health and safety standards as well as assessing and proactively managing risk.
  • Embracing Lean leadership behaviours to drive day-to day improvement activity like 5S and longer-term lean projects to enable continuous improvement in performance and the way we operate.
What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience in leading teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • You have experience of leading transformation projects and are familiar with continuous improvement methodologies such as six sigma and lean (Green/Black belt accreditation would be beneficial).
  • Proven experience delivering improved manufacturing performance in both favourable and unfavourable conditions, utilizing cross-functional teams.
  • Experience of leading people change within a manufacturing environment, demonstrating ability to respond at pace, to changing demands through robust planning and control methodology.
