This post is suited to those wishing to start a career within the research setting and with a passion for research. The post holder will be assisting in the delivery of research in a variety of areas including Ophthalmology, Ear, Nose & Throat, Stroke and other specialties helping to change NHS treatments and patients lives for the better.
We often have openings in other areas for Research Assistants such as Urgent Care and supporting our team in being flexible in home/ work life balance and working area.
The main focus of the post is to support the research team in all aspects of the trials/studies on a day to day basis, including screening, assessments, follow-up and data collection to achieve departmental and organisational goals.
A key part of the role will be to liaise with all members of the multi-disciplinary team across a variety of departments therefore you must possess excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrate good attention to detail.

You will work closely with the wider clinical teams to develop strong working relationships and an effective research culture.
The post holder will fulfil the role of research assistant responsible for supporting Direct Delivery research projects on a day to day basis (involving practical and administrative tasks).
The post holder will be accountable for all aspects of the research process under direct supervision. The responsibilities will include data collection, data management, participant recruitment and organisational duties.
The post holder will work within the guidelines of Good Clinical Practice & Research Governance and local Trust policies.
You will need to demonstrate a willingness to work across organisations and within a multidisciplinary research environment. Also the requirement to travel to other hospital sites within the Thames Valley area may arise therefore a driving licence and car is preferable, travel expenses would be covered.
Please note this role is a 12 month fixed term position. Banding will be dependent on previous experience.
