Do you want to be a part of our new pioneering vision for Nature Recovery across Somerset?

As Nature Recovery Manager you will take a lead role in the development and delivery of our Nature Recovery strategy,; working with authorities, developers, land owners and statutory bodies to make a positive impact enabling the use of resources to deliver green infrastructure and nature recovery networks across the country.

Working with our existing Nature Recovery Manager on a job share basis, this post is focused on developing and delivering Somerset’s Nature Recovery Network, targeting delivery to areas that will have the greatest impact and enable and engage stakeholders and communities to take meaningful action.

The role has a strong focus on land use particularly around planning policy, green infrastructure, and developments. The postholder will be responsible for establishing processes and policies for SWT to engage positively with the planning system and planning policies to deliver the best outcomes for nature and for communities.

In addition, the postholders will be leading on Somerset Wildlife Trust's responses to planning applications and promoting and facilitating the co-ordinated delivery of green infrastructure and Nature Recovery Networks across county, delivering this through training of a team of volunteers, and through proactive engagement and providing training to planning authorities’, statutory bodies, developers, and community groups across Somerset.

The hours are 22.5 per week from Wednesday to Friday and based at our Callow Rock Office with opportunities for home working. You will need to travel to locations around the county due to the rural nature of Somerset, by using your own car.
