General Poultry Farm Worker

GENERAL POULTRY FARM WORKERS

Based at our poultry farm at Milfield near Wooler, an opportunity has arisen for a full-time and general poultry farm workers.

Duties of the successful applicant will include:

• Working in poultry houses, i.e. walking the sheds, picking mislaid eggs, laying shavings, handling chickens
• Looking after bird welfare including feeding
• Monitoring and recording consumption of food and water
• Routine and daily cleaning of equipment used
• Collecting, screening and packing eggs onto trays, including completion of paperwork
• Complete all daily tasks with farm bio security paramount
• General farm duties such as ground maintenance including use of equipment
• Maintaining safe practice at all times

What we are looking for:

• Due to bird welfare, it is essential that you do not own any Avian pets or poultry.
• Excellent time keeping
• You can work equally well on your own or as part of a team
• Although previous poultry experience would be advantageous, this is not required as full training will be provided.

You will be required to work an average of 39 basic hours per week, Monday – Friday plus 6 hours overtime on one weekend day, subject to rota. Normal hours are 7.30am – 4.00pm.

You must have access to own transport due to location of farm and start times.

Potentially, there is also a three bedroom cottage available rent-free.
