Position Overview & Specifications
CJ Associates Geotechnical, part of the RSK Group are seeking an additional Construction Materials Technician to support the team based on site in various locations and in the laboratory in Bridgend, UK. The role is a full time permanent position offering a salary of up to £26,000 depending on experience.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Technician to undertake Soils, Concrete and Bituminous testing and sampling on site at various locations and in the laboratory based in Bridgend
- Weekend working will be required from time to time.
- Plan and manage your work
- Provide effective input to projects consistent with your skills and experience
- Contribute day to day in the effective operation of the laboratory by working with and supporting more senior staff
- Identify your internal and external training needs
- Contribute to the promotion of the company’s services
- Participate in the general development of customer goodwill
- Deliver tasks for review in a timely manner and accurate state
- Ensure that the company isn’t exposed to unacceptable liabilities
- Comply with all health and safety requirements
- Report any unsafe acts or incidents immediately
- Ensure compliance with company rules and procedures
- Seek advice / clarification, where necessary, from senior staff
- Report to the required standards in the appropriate format and on time
- Adhere to best working practice and industry standards. Training and guidance to be provided.
Essential Professional/Technical Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in Insitu & Laboratory Testing Activities would be advantageous
- The post holder will be expected to attend and pass internal and industry recognised external training courses. These may include but not be limited to, PTS, CCNSG, CSCS, CAT, First Aid and manual handling training.
- UK Driving License
- On the job training will be provided.
