The job:

We are looking for female Personal Assistants (PA’s) to work with a young lady who has a severe learning and developmental disability.

She has a diagnosis similar to cerebral palsy. She lives independently in her parents home in a purpose built annexe.

You will provide personal care,feeding via a gastric tube, assistance with all transfers and activities. The young lady is non verbal and has the use of a computer to assist her.

The role will be varied, sometimes the day will be about friendship, and spending time at home. Other days will be about getting out and about locally, to enjoy social activities or appointments.

Every day is about caring. There will be elements of the repositioning using a hoist and personal care.

The right person

Experience in working with a person who requires this level of care would be an advantage.

It is not essential that you have experience in the clinical tasks but you must have common sense, be flexible, enthusiastic and willing to learn! You will receive full training in all aspects of caring. The main thing is that you have a naturally friendly and caring nature.

The Hours: 24 hours support at all times.

• 8am to 8pm
• 8pm to 8am

Work patterns are well planned part-time hours. You will work as part of a team and are willing to pick up additional hours and be flexible to cover holidays and times of sickness.
