Who we're looking for


If you've just finished school or college, and gained A-levels or BTECs, and you're not sure that university is for you, then our two year Apprenticeship Programme provides you with a chance to take the first step in your career and earn while you learn.


Although you may have never heard of Schroders before visiting our website, this apprenticeship programme could be for you seeing as the key purpose of the programme is to teach you about what, why and how we do what we do.


On this programme, you'll be part of our wider Compliance Team within the Financial Crime Compliance part of our business.


You will get hands-on experience with the department, find out how the team operates within Schroders as well as working towards a professional qualification.

The Team



Financial Crime Compliance


The financial services industry is tightly regulated, a key function of our Financial Crime Compliance Team is to ensure that we adhere to these regulations in everything we do. But compliance is about more than just responding to regulation, its also ensuring we are committed to the Schroders' value of conducting business with honesty and integrity means supporting our employees in delivering the highest standards, which can require us to investigate unusual activity.


You'll be working within a team of financial crime professionals, based both in the UK and across our global locations, advising on all aspects of financial crime; anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing, anti-bribery and corruption, sanctions, tax evasion, and investigations.


What you'll do


Some of the tasks and projects you'll be involved in are:



  • Investigating and presenting the impact of any new financial crime legislation or regulation that impacts Schroders
  • Responding to advisory queries from the business
  • Support with reviewing and investigating the information we receive from all business areas to ensure our controls to mitigate financial crime continue to operate as expected
  • Take a lead role in coordinating all of the regions to ensure team meetings are structured and organised, presentation materials are prepared, and ensuring communication remains effective
  • Build close working relationships with stakeholders across the global business to grow your understanding and knowledge of business activity

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need


  • You must be 18 years old by 4 September to apply for the 2023 intake
  • You must have gained A-levels (or equivalent) in any subjects – no minimum UCAS point required
